So . . . when's the next PlurkTalk - and, more importantly, what's the next book or topic in line?

I agree, Gordon, it's very hard to find friends post-school. Working alone, that's why I joined plurk in the first place...for some kind of contact. But I definitely feel the need for 3D friend time!

This subject had always fascinated me. There are so many ways to look at it and everyone brings something new to the discussion. Every time I think about it, I come up with new nuances. And I've been doing it long enough that the majority of my close acquaintance call me Kermit or Frawg. :)

Thanks for the great comment!

Great subject very relevant to the times. In my experience contacts that once were exclusivley online have evolved into phone calls and, snail mail and even face to face visits. I found that once your out of school you are limited to making new friends with coworkers, which is a limited pool. But yes I agree with the loss of the viseral quality of experience when reasearching places and things. The Net should enhance not replace hands on exploration. Its like most useful tools double edged. I loved this article would love to see more on this subject.

Awww! You're a total sweetie, you know that, right? Just asking is help enough!

I've always been hard - unrealistically so - on myself. I've known that for ages and it's the one thing that every therapist I've ever had has had little success in assisting me to overcome. It's far easier for me to forgive someone else something or to cut someone else some slack than it is for me to allow myself the same. Fatal flaw? I'm not sure as it's proven to kept me constantly seeking to do more and better things and to be a better person.

Actually, I don't have your e-mail address, sadly. I know (or am, at least, I'm pretty sure!) that you have mine from my comment postings here. If not, let me know and I'll post it for you, k?

Yay! This makes me a happy reese - and a very honored one, too! ^_^ If there's any way to be able to read the transcript of the Plurktalk that I'll be missing, I'd love to do that. Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors.
